Castors carry a small share of a wheelchair's weight but determine most of how it handles. Newton Ultracaster castors roll more smoothly and flutter less than worn or undersized originals.
Adjustability
Match existing castor diameter, stem length and thread. Changing diameter alters the chair's seat angle and may require the fork position to be reset, so it is not a like-for-like swap.
Safety and Care
New castors on worn fork bearings will still flutter, so check bearing condition at the same time. Have the seat angle checked after fitting if you have changed castor diameter.
