Adjustability
Seat width and depth are measured to the user, as a chair that is too wide lets the user slide sideways. Seat-to-floor height is set against the surfaces the user transfers to and from.
Safety and Care
If the chair moves between rooms, check the castor and braking arrangement. Apply the brakes before every transfer, and involve an occupational therapist where positioning forms part of a care plan.
